What is Personal Training?
Most people have an idea of what personal training is and it’s not always accurate. Personal training is no longer just for the rich and famous – anyone and everyone can benefit from personal training. It’s not just about having someone stand beside you and bark instructions while you sweat and struggle. It should be so much more than that.
I believe it is about helping people understand and reach their goals. This involves exercise programmes designed for you as an individual. I will take time to find out not only where you want to be, but assess where you are now so that your exercise is realistic and achievable as well as challenging. Of course I will be there by your side to make sure you can achieve your full potential whilst educating you on the correct way to exercise.
Every session is different. Not just because I realise every person has different ability, fitness, likes and dislikes but because I know that variety is the key to keeping you motivated and interested and on the path to achieving better health and fitness. Exercise should be about working every muscle in your body and working as many as you can at one time. This forms my philosophy of training and WILL help you achieve what you desire, whether it’s lower body fat, building muscle or just improving your general health and fitness. It is also important to train your core muscles and build strength and stability in this area, too often overlooked in many exercise programmes. This will benefit everyone, whether you want to improve posture, build or tone muscle or are training for a specific sport event.
Exercise has to be performed at the right intensity to get results. Too often people will not get the results they expect because they don’t work their bodies the right way. This not only includes exercising at a high enough level but making sure you give your body enough rest to recover and improve. Not only will I motivate you to push yourself during your sessions but I will educate you and plan together to get the maximum results for your body and mind.
